Recent Events

Individuals, corporations and foundations throughout the state host fundraisers and events to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. These events play an important role in helping us raise funds to continue granting the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions. We are grateful to all of the community groups, individuals and companies that operate events to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey, such as:

WPU LogoWilliam Paterson University’s TV club, WPTV-6, hosted a 12-hour live telethon on December 3rd with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. The telethon served to inform the William Paterson campus and community about the Foundation and its mission and raised over $1,300 to help grant the wish of a local child.
Each year, members of the Engineers Club of New Jersey come together during quarterly meetings as well as at their annual golf outing and holiday party to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. As a result of this year’s efforts, the Engineers Club has raised almost $3,000 to help grant four year old Cameron’s wish to visit Disney World.
Hyatt Morristown Tree LightingA holiday tradition continued as the Hyatt Morristown hosted their Annual Tree Lighting on December 2nd to honor the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. Wish child, Chaz, and his family were honored guests and in keeping with the holiday spirit, Chaz shared his experience of having his wish granted to meet his favorite NY Giants player, Aaron Ross.
Limo DigestThe Limo Digest Show’s 13th Annual Industry Achievement Awards Banquet and Charity Auction was an evening to remember as over $40,000 was raised to help grant wishes throughout New Jersey. This year’s event adopted such wishes as Trevon’s wish to visit Disney World, Kelsey’s wish to meet Selena Gomez, star of the Wizards of Waverly Place, Tyania’s wish to go on a shopping spree, Mohammed’s wish to visit family in Bangladesh.
Making Music for MAWWith the help of family and friends and the South Jersey community, Joanne Clendining hosted Making Music for Make-A-Wish on October 25th. This benefit concert featured the sounds of Acoustic Soul, Deb Chamberlin, Ray Adkins Band, and Love Alive and raised over $4,000 to help support eight year old Hannah’s wish to set sail on a Disney Cruise.
On October 24th, the Colonia VFW Post #606 proudly hosted their annual Dinner Dance Fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. Proceeds from this event totaled $5,840 and helped support six year old Michael’s wish to go on a Disney Cruise.
ConsultedgeConsultedge® employees and supporters came together for their exciting 2nd Annual Casino Night to benefit the MAWFNJ. Spearheaded by Casino Night Chairperson Dorothy Ochs and Consultedge President, CEO and Founder Neil Stanton, this year’s event raised almost $10,000 to grant the wish of two year old Kyle to visit Disney World.
Each year, friends and family of Matthew Regan and Vice Chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey’s Governing Board, Thomas McEvoy, come together to honor and remember the lives of Sheila Regan and Moira McEvoy during the Sheila Regan/Moira McEvoy Memorial Golf Outing. Held on October 22nd, this annual outing raised almost $10,000 to grant the wish of six year old Dominic to visit Disneyland.
Thirteen year old Danny Mitchell recently celebrated his Bar-Mitzvah. As part of a community service project towards this milestone, Danny planned a flag football tournament with his friends to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. Held on October 11th, Danny and his friends raised just over $1,300 to help support the wish another thirteen year old young man, Efrain, whose wish was to take a tropical vacation with his family.
Brian RudolphOn October 10th, Brian Rudolph and his friends participated in the 3rd Annual Fall Crawl Bar Crawl throughout Hoboken and named the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey as the beneficiary of their night on the town. The group raised $300 which will help grant wishes throughout the Garden State.
The 6th Annual Rob’s Pre-Winter Poker Run was held again this year when bikers from the Cumberland County area came together to ride 90 miles through three counties for a great cause. Led by Robert Shannon and the Millville Elks Lodge in Millville, this year’s event raised just over $2,500 and helped to support the wish of four year old Madison whose fondest wish is to visit Disney World.
Arielle's AngelsArielle Albani had the chance to experience the power of a wish® when she set sail on a Disney Cruise in 1999. For the past several years, Arielle’s family and friends have come together to honor Arielle’s life taken too soon when she passed away from cancer. This year, that remembrance took on a life of its own on September 26th and 27th during a Casino Bus Trip to Atlantic City and the formation of a Walk for Wishes Team named “Arielle’s Angels,” which collectively raised over $2,200 to help support the wish of four year old Cameron to visit Disney World.
The Columbia Italian American Club of Union once again hosted the Italian Feast of St. Michael throughout the weekend of September 18-20th. Proceeds from the purchase of raffle tickets benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. Led by Club member Vincent Amato, his year’s Feast raised $4,500 to grant the wish of thirteen year old Michael to have a special gaming computer.
GreenbaumRoweOn September 18th, the employees of Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith and Davis LLP in Iselin came together to “dress down” for a great cause. Through their efforts, employees raised $7,400 to grant the wish of fourteen year old Elizabeth to visit Hawaii with her family. Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith and Davis employees are going to continue their fundraising efforts into early 2010 to grant more wishes.
On September 14th, the Irvington Fire Department hosted its 6th Annual Pezzino Golf Classic to honor the legacy of fallen Firefighter, Joe Pezzino. Led by Andrew Zwirko, the Annual Golf Classic raised $6,500 to adopt the fondest wish of a child from Essex County.
