Matthew, 7, has loved soccer his entire life. According to his mother Rosa, he has been dedicated to watching the sport on TV since he was just three years old.
Through his fight against a critical illness, and the many uncertainties that come with that fight, soccer remained a constant presence and source of joy in his life. For this reason, Matthew's wish came as no surprise to his loved ones - he wished to go to the El Clásico in Miami with his family. For Matthew, a chance to watch one of the iconic matches up close and in person was the thrill of a lifetime.
The trip was more than just a dream vacation – it served as a much-needed break from the anxieties that come with a life-threatening condition. For five entire days, Matthew and his family were able to forget about doctor visits and medical treatments, and simply enjoy the thrilling experience of El Clásico as a family. “Matthew enjoyed every single second of this trip,” Rosa shared. “Thank you so much for all that you have done! Matthew and the family are grateful to have been working on this dream with all of you and making it possible to become a reality.”
Matthew's wish to go to El Clásico in Miami was made possible by Jersey Mike's Subs 2017 March Month of Giving campaign.
